Year 3's Blog!
I had a wonderful time at the Jorvik Centre. I especially enjoyed my trip around the museum on the monorail. Although the smells were disgusting it was very interesting to find out what life was like in York during the Viking period. I did not know that the Vikings had slaves who came from Ireland. One of the Viking guides told us all about Viking artefacts and we found out that the children would make ice skates from bones.
It was great to take my class around the city of York and show them its lovely sights of interest. I can’t wait to return very soon.#York

I enjoyed my trip to the Jorvik. It was really fun and there was a lot of cool stuff. Even though there was really bad smells it was really interesting to look what it looked like in the Viking peroid (1000 years ago). The fact that I found out was kids in those days used bones for ice skates in winter. Then we became archaeologists and we had to dig, me and Adam found almost a whole footpath. Then we put some animal bones inside the correct slot. When we felt the stones I never even knew that it was actually 1000 year old human poo but there were no germs PHEW.
The ride was so realistic that I thought that the Vikings were actually real people. Finally we set off back to school and my day was amazing at York and I hope we can go again to look at more stuff at the Jorvik centre.
